The first module focuses primarily on improving your general German language skills to level B2.

They solidify your grammar, expand your vocabulary and practice fluent, correct and professional speaking – as a basis for successful work and communication in everyday medical life in Germany.

Content and learning objectives

Completion of German language skills at level B2.

Basic communication skills: You will learn important phrases and formulations for everyday practice or hospital life – such as greetings, explaining examinations or conducting empathetic conversations.

Pronunciation and listening comprehension: You will improve your listening comprehension in medical contexts and practice clear, natural pronunciation.

Medical vocabulary: You will expand your vocabulary related to common diseases, organs, symptoms, examinations and therapies.

Documentation and notes: They practice simple written tasks such as recording patient data or short findings notes.

The goal of the module

Upon completion of the module, you will have a solid linguistic foundation in medical German and will reach a secure language level at B2.

This will provide you with the best basis for the subsequent modules (2–4) or – if you have attended the preparatory course – you can start directly with module 2.

The second module focuses on deepening your medical language skills and their practical application.

You will learn to conduct doctor-patient conversations fluently, to explain more complex medical issues in an understandable way, and to create medical documentation correctly.

Content and learning objectives


Doctor-patient communication: You will practice detailed anamnesis interviews, patient explanations and consultations.

Specialized vocabulary: Expanding your vocabulary related to diagnoses, therapies, treatment procedures and medical terminology.

Written communication: Training in writing medical letters, findings and short notes.

Practical communication skills: Practice of communication techniques such as active listening, summarizing patient information and responding empathetically.

Listening comprehension and expression: You will practice understanding medical conversations confidently and formulating your own structured responses.

Anamnesis: Training in anamnesis interviews for the systematic collection of the medical history and current complaints of patients.

The goal of the module

After completing Module 2, you will be able to conduct medical discussions and documentation confidently and professionally in German.

This module builds on the foundations of Module 1 and optimally prepares you for the later modules (3-4) and the specialist language examination.

Listening comprehension and expression: Training for understanding technical discussions and precisely formulating one’s own contributions.
